McCAD Tracker 7.0

Unlike traditional autorouters, Tracker rarely looks at the entire board. Instead,Tracker examines in meticulous detail a relatively small routing window, and completes the window before moving on, just like a manual designer.
One of the concepts which differentiates Tracker from most other autorouters in existence today is the “Sweep” router, which completes each routing window before moving on to the next. The importance of the sweep concept has been proven time and time again in Manual Design.

Using Tracker, a designer typically starts routing in the most dense area of the board. The reason for this is that once you have finished the most dense area, you are more likely to be able to complete the entire design. Other autorouters, even if they can see which area of the board is most dense, have no way of routing that area to completion first.
